Project Financial Analyst

 

Job Purpose

The Project Financial Analyst is to liaison between Development Management and Accounting teams to handle processes and procedures on each development project to co-ensure that each project adheres to company policies and contract terms. The Project Financial Analyst will look after multiple priorities, being aware of and responsive to internal and external needs.

Reports to: Director of Operations

 

Responsibilities
  • Maintain Project Controls, Checks and Balances and Audit Standards for all work efforts
  • Review all relevant development project contracts and change orders
  • Review project invoices for accuracy (math, contract, etc.) and enter into DocuSign for approvals
  • Review and maintain contractor insurance files and solicit updates as the need arises before approval for payment
  • Cost control – Ensure costs are coded accurately and are in line with the said Contract – including communicating with contract administration to understand appropriate costing and coordinating with the Development Managers
  • Enter approved project invoices, contracts and change orders into Quickbooks
  • Prepare reports, monthly accruals and budget to actual based on contracted costs
  • Work with development team to forecast costs and/or billing schedule on a monthly basis
  • Maintain the project filing directory on Box, ensuring that contracts, invoices, expense support, and all other required documents are being uploaded and maintained
  • Primary point of contact related to project accounting
  • Participate in meetings with Generis Collective staff and Project Team to review monthly reports

 

Background & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

 

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Pages, Numbers.
  • Bookkeeping/Accounting System Experience with QuickBooks
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

  • Customer service mind-set and an outstanding teammate mentality
  • Positive, proactive work ethic and approach
  • Shown ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with customers, peers, management, contractors and vendors

  • Show tact, discretion, confidentiality in handling critical and confidential matters and documentation.
